Black onyx is a kidney tonic and gentle harmonizer and amplifier of both kidney yin and kidney yang. This means it supports our ability to become calm, still and settled while simultaneously supporting our energy to move, be productive and enjoy greater energy and metabolism. I have always felt that Black Onyx offers much more than the sum of its parts. There’s a magic to it that goes beyond its classifications. It feels like a grounding, stabilizing, nourishing and greatly balancing black stone. By balancing, I mean that it’s like having a really good sound guy for your band, adjusting dozens of levers on the soundboard with precision and intelligence. Through this, we feel deeply tended to in healing and transformation and the entire body and all energetic bodies feel supported. This has to do with its connection with the mother of all organs, the kidneys, and its direct affinity with them. It’s just an excellent stone and if you’ve never worked with it, give yourself a gift and try it out.
